Winter Soldier Kneepads. Cast from two part mold.

To complete my Winter Soldier costume, I 3D modeled a two part injection mold to cast them in platinum silicone or urethane rubber. It was a fun little one week project that I enjoyed a lot. Sometimes it's good to relax into smaller projects in between the massive ones.

The kneepads have lining on the back side, even though they didn't need it. They came out super clean thanks to the two part mold. The straps were placed in the mold before injection!

They also have three different textures with three different sheens, thanks to the nature of the mold. I could have added some weathering with light browns and black but I decided to leave them clean.
